Christian Life: Wear Your Crown

Always Wear Your invisible Crown!

(Because you can’t always wear a real one!)

You Will Need:

  • A paper crown - either one you made yourself or a christmas cracker crown
  • If you want to - have some things to decorate the crown too!

Good to Know:

  • As Christians, we are children of God the Father - the Heavenly King.
  • As children of the King, we should act like we are children of the King.
  • This doesn’t mean we can boss people around!
  • It does mean we should act like we are children of the King - like Jesus does.

Ponder:

What do you need to change so you can act more like a child of the King?

  • Stop being bossy?
  • Do things for others?
  • Be kinder?
  • Share more?
  • Something else?

As you put your crown on, ask God what He would like you to do, or stop doing, to be more like Jesus.

Pray:

You can make up your own prayer, or use this one:

"Loving God and King.

Thankyou that you are King of my life.

Help me to act, think and speak like a child of a king should.

Help me to show the amazing King I love by the way I live.

Be with me today as I wear my 'invisible crown'.

Amen."

A note to those supporting children with this activity.
If you want a longer activity, you can decorate the crown. Whilst doing that, use the opportunity to discuss what a King or Queen does in serving the people in their country and tie that into the 'Pondering' section.
