Connected (Paperchain Prayer)
A prayer for the New Year and Beyond
From the Bible:
"Come near to God, and he will come near to you".
James Chapter 4 Verse 8 (First part)
At the beginning of the year we often set ourselves 'goals'.
Sometimes we call the 'resolutions'.
This simple activity can help us to remember a resolution to connect more with God each day.
Make a paper chain of two rings with your name on one link and God's on the other (like the photo above).
- Thank God that you can be connected to Him - only because Jesus died for you (and rose from the dead!).
- Spend a moment in thankfulness for Jesus - tell Him you are thankful.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you through the day - and help you to honour God in all you think, say and do.
Keep the chain where you can see it each day. Let it prompt you to speak to God more each day.
