Thankyou Arrow

The word thankyou. Each letter looks like a chocolate biscuit.

Being Grateful And Remembering To Say Thankyou To God

You will need:

  • A Jar or bowl
  • Small squares of paper
  • Tissue paper or any paper you can twist without it tearing.
  • Possibly a Pencil/pen
A big green arrow pointing backwards to the cross. Around the arrow are the words; things, people,Jesus, safety, pets and answers to prayer. A cartoon of Albert looking back is on the right.

What The Bible Says:

Lord, I will give thanks to you with all my heart.

I will tell about all the wonderful things you have done.

Psalm 9 verse 1

Ponder:

We always say thank you for good things....or if we don't, we should!

Some of us might write or draw a thankyou letter when we are given presents.

Sometimes we might give some chocolate sweets if someone has done something really nice for us.

It’s good to be thankful. Especially for all the things God has given us or helped us with.

What are you thankful for?

A person, food, a pet, where you live, something you’ve done?

Maybe an answer to something you prayed about?

Prepare:

We’re going to make a prayer sweets!

With the square of paper,  do what helps you to say thankyou:

  • If you want to scribble whilst you think about what you're thankful for - that's OK. God can read scribble!
  • If you want to draw what you're thankful for - that's great too.
  • You can even write what you're thankful for if you prefer to do that.

Now screw up your piece of paper into a ball and put it on top of the paper that will become the 'sweet wrapper

Some paper screwed up into a ball.
The screwed up ball of paper on top of what will become a sweep wrapper

Now roll the 'sweet wrapper' around the screwed up prayer and then twist the ends to make is look like a sweet.

The sweet wrapper paper roller around the screwed up thankyou prayer.
The 'sweet' with the ends twisted like an old fashioned sweet.

Now place your 'sweet' into the a bowl with all the others as you say your prayer.
